FC+ delivers the goods for Hayes Carll

The brand-new Hayes Carll merchandise case, custom built by FC+

The FC+ build team is celebrating the deployment of yet another merchandise case into the big world of concert touring. Lost Highway recording artist Hayes Carll commissioned the FC+ custom design in order to handle increased merchandise inventory in a more compact system. Hayes’ manager Mike Crowley voiced his excitement for the all-in-one touring merch solution: “This is going to be sweet.”

This case is the largest version available from FC+, topping out at a whopping 24″ x 48″ with a maximum capacity of 96 folded shirts and over 100 CD’s. Load it in, pop open the top, plug in the lights and you are ready to start selling merch. Take-down is twice as fast. Additional features include a 14″x14″ backlit sign, 8-customizable dividers, t-shirt display boards, and built-in luggage wheels for easy rolling transport. The heavy-duty outer shell easily weathers the constant loading in and out of the trailer.

Touring behind his current release Trouble In Mind for the next three months, Carll’s route goes up the West Coast, through Canada and back down into the Midwest. This Texas troubadour is hitting the road with a merch case that is built to last. Willie Nelson is “Fueled by America” (and FC+)

FC+ is happy to announce the release of Willie Nelson’s “Fueled by America” line of merchandise now available. Music merchandiser All Access Today commissioned FC+ to create a custom merchandise line inspired by Willie’s commitment to alternative-fuels and eco-conscious touring.

FC+ principle photographer Jon Pattillo completed a wonderful photo shoot with Playing in Traffic artist Sahara Smith. The all-day affair took place at the famous Murchison Farmhouse in Pflugerville, TX where movies like The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas and Children of the Corn were filmed. Make up by Mahshad Vahkili and wardrobe and styling by Kat Brit. Special thanks to Winnie Mae Murchison for her great hosting the spectacular location to shoot.

At the young age of 20, Sahara Smith has already been around the block once or twice. At age 15 she won second place on Garrison Keillor’s Prairie Home Companion “Talent from 12-20″ contest. Now at age 21 she is ready to release her debut record, produced by the legendary T Bone Burnett (Oh Brother Where Art Thou?, Robert Plant and Allison Krauss’ 2008 Grammy-winning Raising Sand, The Wallflowers, Counting Crows, BoDeans, and many more). Sahara’s lyrics showcase her maturity and depth, and the recent attention she has received from big-time record producers shouldn’t surprise anyone.

In advance of her album release in the Fall of 2010 Sahara’s music and photos have since been featured in Glamour, PASTE, Seventeen, and Texas Monthly. Look for her this summer as she tours with Mason Jennings and Robert Randolph, retuning to her hometown as a featured performer at the 2010 Austin City Limits Music Festival.

Los Lonely Boys “1969″ Album Art Design

Los Lonely Boys blend their Latin flavor with timeless hits in their newest release, 1969, and pay tribute to one of the most heralded years in music. FC+ president Jon Pattillo provided the album design and photography while enlisting acclaimed designer M Brady Clark for the brother’s illustration and “1969″ type treatment. The album hit stores on October 13, 2009. Los Lonely Boys are set to begin their Acoustic Brotherhood Tour in February 2010.

Artists, fans and music industry professionals from all over the globe made their way to Nashville this September for the 10th annual Americana Music Festival & Conference. One of our favorites, Rose Reyes, of the Austin Convention & Visitor’s Bureau hosted the “Austin @ Americana” music showcase featuring performances by Asleep at the Wheel, Reckless Kelly, Seth Walker, The Trishas and Amy Cook. FC+ provided custom designed tote bags and limited-edition silkscreen posters (they glow in the dark!).

FC+ creates the “look” for Playing in Traffic

FC+ principal photographer Jon Pattillo has been comissioned by Austin’s newest record label, Playing in Traffic, to create the visual image of its esteemed roster of artists. The newly formed label, an evolution of Loophole Entertainment, headed by Kevin Womack and Whitaker Elledge, debuts at this year’s SXSW music conference with acts like The Steps, Gary Clark Jr., Sahara Smith, SPEAK and Los Lonely Boys. Playing in Traffic will launch its new website and publicity campaign this week, all of which feature photographs taken by Jon Pattillo of FC+. AUSTIN, Texas – On Tues., Mar. 10, David Lutes‘ brand new double EP package is releasing to stores. Titled Big Top Vols 1 & 2, the two EP’s emphasize David’s well-known folk background while foraying into new song structures not previously heard from the 2009 Texas Music Award nominee for “Male Vocalist of the Year” and “Song of the Year.”

Broken into the double set to clarify his cross-genre approach, Vol. 1 features an Americana-influenced tracklist, whereas Vol. 2 is a new direction for Lutes. It emphasizes his love for pop music, where he has distinctively woven pop-structures onto the songs for this EP.
Big Top is receiving new treatment in another way as well. Alternately known as Plumtucker for his first two LP’s, this new release required a more straightforward visage, pitting Lutes as the front of the project. Indeed, it is primarily his melodic voice and poetic lyrics the listener hears at first- a commonality on all his records.

FC+ is proud to announce the addition of The Steps to its roster of esteemed clientele. Commissioned by managers Kevin Womack and Whitaker Elledge of Loophole Entertainment, FC+ created a new merchandise line and fufillment system custom tailored to the specific needs of this rapidly rising band.

FC+ also set up a official web store that integrates seamlessly into their existing webiste. A customized and embeddable Flash “widget” attracts directs customers from MySpace, Facebook and other social networking sites.

Fresh out of high school, Austin-based The Steps are a fast-rising garage rock outfit with plenty of ‘tude and swagger to go around. Their self-titled debut record has impressed everyone from international critics to adoring audiences in Japan and London. They are well on their way to being the best-known indie band in Austin- emerging from the Dell sponsored Sound and the Jury contest earlier this year as victors, beating out over 700 other bands hoping for the chance to perform at the 2008 Austin City Limits Music Festival. FC+ was more than pleased to work with the Steps on new t-shirt designs, merchandise displays and store ordering systems.

Drew Smith is One Cool Guy

FC+ has been extensively working with Drew Smith in preparation for the release of his new album, titled Drew Smith’s Lonely Choir, scheduled for release on September 9th from Fat Caddy Records/Viro Records. FC+ artists Dave Schwab and Jon Pattillo designed and printed the physical album (and it looks awesome, if we may say so), while Natalie Darrah currently handles publicity needs.

The record itself is a killer breed- light-hearted, elegantly composed, and rife with American folk-rock. We can’t wait to introduce the world to Drew Smith’s Lonely Choir, and are making sure its got all the latest threads before it shuffles off into the universe.
