Momo’s 8th Anniversary poster commission
FC+ was again commissioned to create the annual poster for the Momo's Anniversary weekend celebrating eight years of real, live music in Austin, TX. This limited-edition silk-screen poster was designed and printed by hand at the South Side Sanctuary. Signed and numbered prints will be available at this weekend's festivities.
Poster designer Jon Pattillo took inspiration from both the recent Bejing Olympics and US presidential campaigns by choosing a patriotic-American color scheme, yet communist propaganda inspired repetition of shape.
Similar color pallet is found in the ubiquitous Barack Obama silk-screened "HOPE" poster designed by acclaimed graphic artist Shepard Fairey. Fans and critics alike have commented on the socialist propaganda roots that this visual style hails from.
